Students travel from all across the Dallas area for science classes at North Lake College. Why? Because our science departments are outstanding, offering accessible faculty, flexible and innovative course schedules, support outside the classroom and fully transferrable credit.
Pre-med, pre-nursing, pre-pharmacy, pre-dental? We’ll get you started
At North Lake College, students interested in health science careers can take advantage of a range of classes in anatomy and physiology, biology, microbiology, nutrition and many more.
North Lake students go on to take the GRE, MCAT, DAT and HESI exams. Plus North Lake makes it simple for students to take their first two years of a pre-professional program, finish prerequisites and requirements, and then head to a top professional school for a completed degree. NLC’s pre-pharmacy students are able to attain their entire prerequisite requirements—a total of 60 credit hours—before transferring.

First-rate faculty and student support
North Lake science professors choose to run their own labs and advise students personally outside of class. Our faculty members prefer to interact directly with their students, in classes, labs and office hours.
And the excellent faculty, including MDs and PhDs, isn’t the only resource available: the Science Learning Center grants students access to free science tutoring, solution manuals, teaching software, faculty-selected science DVDs and a full set of anatomy models. Walk-ins are welcome during all its opening hours, even on weekends.
College that fits your life
Our class offerings can fit into the busiest schedule. In addition to evening classes, North Lake offers Fast Track classes which combine two semesters into one. Around half our students choose this option. NLC also offers hybrid courses with online lectures and on-campus labs. Online learning is a click away and lab hours are flexible enough to fit any schedule.
Our courses are affordable and if you need help paying for tuition, many funding sources are available, including grants, scholarships, and student loans. So whether it’s medicine, nursing, geology or another science that has captured your attention, North Lake College can help you launch a great career.
