Journalism students receive awards

The News-Register staff received 20 awards from the Fall 2017 TCCJA Convention.

North Lake College (NLC) journalism students attended the Texas Community College Journalism Association (TCCJA) Convention and brought home 20 awards, including the overall award – a “Sweepstakes” plaque for the newsroom. The convention was hosted by the University of Texas at Arlington in Arlington, TX. The News-Register writers and photographers were in attendance, along with Mike Tharp, adjunct journalism professor, who helped judge the live contests.
