Career Center Activities: Fall 2019

The North Lake College Career Center provides a variety of free career planning services and opportunities for current and former students, graduates, and students in the process of enrolling. Join the center for the following events throughout the fall semester this year.

Mock Interview Week
Monday, September 23 – Thursday, September 26
1 – 4 p.m. | A430
Students will have an opportunity to participate in a 30-minute interview session with a HR professional and receive feedback. Job seekers will fine-tune interview skills and possibly hear, “You’re hired.” Students, alumni and community members are welcome.

Veterans on Wall Street Hiring Fair
Thursday, September 26
11 a.m. – 3 p.m. | H200
The military community and their spouses are invited to connect directly with recruiters and hiring managers from local and national companies. The companies will be representing a wide variety of industries, from finance and technology to transportation and law enforcement.

The Art of Interview Dining
Tuesday, October 15
2 – 3 p.m. | H226
This workshop will give participants the expertise to navigate through the interview meal. Tips on navigating the place setting, napkin and silverware, menu management, posture/body language, dining do’s and don’ts, and check and gratuity will be addressed.

This Career Talk Tuesday is a special segment dedicated to the celebration of DCCCD homecoming! Join Career Services live on Facebook to see NLC graduates talk about where they are now.

Guided Pathways to Success Expo: Health Services
Wednesday, November 6
12:30 – 2:30 p.m. | H200
The Guided Pathways (GPS) Expo is one of a series of events to provide educational and career advising employment opportunities according to pathway. Students and community members will have an opportunity to network with GPS advisors, colleges and universities, and employers in the Health Sciences pathway in DFW. Drawings for one $200 scholarship will be held each hour of the event.
