Blazer Basketball Wins National Championship

The North Lake College Men’s Basketball team won the NJCAA Division III National Championship on Saturday, March 18. Congratulations to Coach Tim McGraw and the entire NLC team who made this win North Lake’s 3rd national championship.

North Lake competed in the NJCAA Division III National Tournament held March 16-18 at the UCR Regional Sports Center in Rochester, Minnesota.

North Lake first defeated Davidson County Community College (DCCC) of North Carolina with a final score of 83-77. In the semi-finals, NLC played Anoka-Ramsey Community College (ARCC) from Coon Rapids and Cambridge, Minnesota and won 56-54. The Blazers finished the tournament and earned the national title by defeating Elgin Community College (ECC) from Elgin, Illinois with a final score of 66-56.

NLC will host a congratulatory celebration Thursday, March 30 at 2 p.m. at the Central Campus.
